Lean Six Sigma Support for Green and Black Belts
As you know Lean Six Sigma is focused on reducing variation and waste to improve any business. We also know that one of the 8 wastes is the waste of human talent. Why then do delegates spend the time, effort and money to come on a Lean Six Sigma training course and not use their new skills and techniques to radically improve their business? This is a question which has been bothering us for a while. We have come up with a few potential reasons and what we believe are some innovative solutions to help both businesses and individuals.
Typically the reasons for not using your new Lean Six Sigma skills include
- There is a lack of money to spend on coaching and support in the business or from individuals themselves
- There is a lack of time to do run projects or obtain coaching or support. The day job takes over and you can’t get a gap to run your project or convince your boss to let you complete a project in the correct manner
- Pressure just to come up with the quickest solution – fire fighting takes over again, you know better but can’t get the time or support to do anything else.
- You don’t have a project to work on at the moment or don’t know where to start
- There is nobody in the company who can give you the support you need. Or if there is they are too busy to help. Resulting in you doing nothing or trying your best which means you might not be as effective as you could be
- Changing priorities in the business or life result in you not wanting or needing to run Lean Six Sigma projects
- You went on the training and are not convinced the approach or 100% effective training can help
