Lean Six Sigma?

In its simplest terms Lean and Six Sigma are ways for you to improve your business.  Together they create a methodology which if followed will dramatically improve your business processes, the attitude of people in the business and the results for customers in terms of quality and delivery.  The ultimate outcome is the business can reduce costs, increase profits and obtain more satisfied customers.

It does this by using simple tools and techniques to identify where you have issues in the business and then solves these problems in a structured way, using data and some easy methods to eliminate the issues permanently.

The methods, tools and techniques have been around for decades and you will know some of them.  What makes the whole system work is putting a structure in place in your organisation, getting everyone to buy into that concept and then training people not only in the tools, techniques and methods but in some basic implementation and people skills such as facilitation, change management, how to work with people and in teams, how to sell and present as well as how to manage a problem solving project.

What we have discovered over the many years we have been working on Lean Six Sigma projects with companies all over the world is that people love to complicate it.  Consultancies love to use complex words and phrases and that lots of people don't get the basic principles of what it is all about.   The result is confusion, lack of understanding, lack of commitment and eventually failure and blame then lets try something else.  The unfortunate thing is that something else will not work either as no matter what you try the issues will be the same.  The problems will be the same and the next initiative will have the same outcome.  The only difference will be that you will have spend a fortune training staff, you will have aggravated them even more with another new idea that will solve all your problems.

The simple truth is there is no golden solution to your business problems.  You just have to work at them in a methodical and structured way with the commitment of your staff and with trained and effective people.

In our vast experience Lean Six Sigma gives you a structure to make your improvements.  You can call the initiative what you want, Nissan call it value up, Alstom call in quality focus, but to be honest you can call it Bob if you like the concepts, methodologies, tools and techniques are the same.  In fact I will bet you that right now there are consultancies out there thinking up the next great golden solution and giving it a great name to sell to big companies and CEO's and MD's all over the world but at the end of the day it will have the same concepts just with a different wrapping.

They all have and will always have Lean tools, Six Sigma tools and making people effective tools associated with them.  We are a training and consultancy company and we can offer you solutions in what ever form you would like.  To show you what we can offer we will use the wrapping of Lean Six Sigma with people skills thrown in to make it effective.  Our site is designed to give you the answers to all the questions we have been asked over the years.  What is Lean, Six Sigma?  How will it benefit me /us?  How will it help me / us? Is it right for our business?  What type of issues does it solve? How do I implement it in my business?  How do I choose a supplier of training and consultancy?  What do all these terms mean?
