EDUCATION: - John Britton is a Business Studies graduate from Hatfield Polytechnic. The specialisation in his degree was Marketing, but from a fairly early date he made the transition to Inventory Management, Demand Forecasting, Logistics, Operations and Supply Chain Management. He has been trained in Benchmarking, Business Process Re-engineering and Performance Measurement.
CAREER HISTORY: - He has worked internationally for companies such as Ilford Films, Revlon Cosmetics, Duracell Batteries and Nobo Presentation Products (Operations Director), and as a business consultant for over 4 years, firstly with a software house and then independently. He has worked at all levels of these companies and always delivered efficiency improvements to reduce working capital and improve customer service.
CORE SKILLS: - With 4 years experience as a consultant to a range of organisations in the UK, and mainland Europe specialising in Change management, people development and process improvement particularly in manufacturing and trading companies. This includes - Just in Time, Kaizen, Supplier development, Business Process Redesign, Management Training, Teambuilding, Operations Management, Total Quality Management, Interpersonal skills development, Benchmarking, Lean Manufacturing, Sourcing, Manufacturing Resource Planning, Materials Requirements planning, cultural change, Supply Chain development and New Product Introduction.
OTHER INFORMATION: - John has developed a new audit for operations targeted at customer service improvement. This is not a benchmarking tool (although some of the data can serve as a benchmark input), but a first step to a customised operational improvement programme for manufacturers.
