LAURIE SPRAGG
EDUCATION: - Laurie Spragg obtained his BSc in Applied Mathematics at City University in London. Has attended many computer-related, and several management type, training courses, including Team Leading, Project Management, Staff Appraisals, Time Management, MS Access, etc.
CAREER HISTORY: - Laurie has worked almost exclusively for computer software companies, including 11 years with the computer consultancy arm of British Petroleum. He has worked at all levels from computer programmer to General Manager. He spent 2 years in Oman as Projects Manager of one half of a multi-million pound project, the last stage of which included training Omani and third world staff in how to use the developed software.
CORE SKILLS: - Laurie has managed projects, staff, suppliers and clients in the computer software arena. Many projects were on clients' sites, and clients covered mostly Manufacturing, NHS, Defence, and Energy markets, and to a lessor extent Finance & Telecomms. Several projects included training clients' staff in how to use the developed software. During 7 years of being a self employed consultant he has also trained MDs and staff in how to use Word and Excel. Laurie's other skills involve designing and creating web sites, designing and creating databases using MS Access (and Visual Basic), and helping SMEs devise and action marketing strategies and produce meaningful reports of their financial data.
IT TRAINING EXPERIENCE: - Laurie has run and developed training courses in many bespoke software products as well as MS Word, MS Excel, Time Management and "How to Write Manuals".
IT PACKAGES: - Laurie uses MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access on a regular basis, and MS Powerpoint and MS Project to a lessor extent. He writes his web sites in HTML and Javascript using Paint Shop Pro to manipulate graphical images, and uses Sage Instant for his own finances and has some knowledge of Sage Line 50.
OTHER INFORMATION: - Laurie loves to keep fit by playing squash in the winter and running in the summer, and he also skis (not very well).
